SERVICES
- Potable Water: All water provided
is potable. Water is available year around at the Harbormaster’s
Office, the Fish Dock and both outside docks. Water is available
along A Float and M Float from approx. May 1 to October 1.
- Electricity: 110v, 220v, and 208v
electricity available at various locations in harbor. Contact
Harbormaster’s Office before plugging in.
- Waste Oil, Filters, Oily Rags:
Waste oil collection sites located on the uplands at Ramp 2 and Ramp
7 for small quantities of boat generated oil, filters, oily rags and
sorbents.
- Garbage & Batteries: Dumpsters are
located at the top of each ramp for boat generated trash. Battery
disposal boxes are located at the top of Ramps 2
and 7.
- Fuel: Two fuel floats within the
harbor at the harbor entrance, operated by Petro Marine Services.
Contact on VHF 16 or at 235-8548, 235-4071, or
235-8818.
- Fish Cleaning Station: Several
fish cleaning tables and carcass/viscera trailer are located on
the uplands at the top of Ramp 4 (N Float). Please DO NOT fillet your catch
in the harbor basin.
- Sewage Pump Out: “Eco barge”
sewage pump out station is located at EE Float, northeast corner of
harbor basin. Small vessels’ sewage holding tanks and/or port-a-potties can be pumped at this facility. Contact the
Harbormaster’s Office for key and instructions.
- Harbor Fees: A complete schedule
of fees is available at the Harbormaster’s Office and on line at
http://port.ci.homer.ak.us.
- Moorage Fees: Increased annually
for inflation. Please call Harbormaster's Office at 235-3160.
Vessels that properly register at Harbormaster’s Office and pay
all moorage fees in advance receive a discount of $5/day from the
daily rate or 50˘/foot from the monthly rate. An inventory of
vessels is conducted between 12:01 a.m. and 10 a.m. daily. A vessel
moored between 12:01 a.m. and 10 a.m. will be charged a full day’s
moorage.
- Boat Trailer Parking: Trailers
parked on City of Homer land for more than seven consecutive days
between
May 15-October 1 are subject to removal. Private parking areas are
available for longer term parking immediately off the Homer Spit on Kachemak Bay Drive and Ocean Drive.
- Launch Fees: Vessels launched from
trailers shall be charged $12 per day for use of the Load and Launch
Ramp. A seasonal permit for $125 is available at the Harbormaster’s
Office entitling a specific vessel and owner to launch between April
1 and
September 30. (Reserved stall lessees exempt from daily and seasonal
launch fees for the registered stall vessel only.)
HARBOR RULES & REGULATIONS
- No Wake Zone: All vessels
transiting the Small Boat Harbor must maintain a “no wake” speed
until 1/4 mile past the outside docks. (Depending on hull
configuration, “no wake” speed is generally below 2.5 knots.)
- Registration: All vessels wishing
to spend a night in the Small Boat Harbor must report to the
Harbormaster’s Office and complete a vessel moorage agreement.
- Transient Vessel Parking: Owners
of transient status vessels should never moor their vessels in a
reserved stall without prior approval from the Harbormaster’s
Office. Transient vessel moorage space is designated by a yellow bullrail.
